Death the Kid appears as a thin, teenaged young man who is a bit shorter than Liz and Patty and reaches only up a little past the latter's shoulder. Kid's eyes have two shades of yellow ringing around his pupil. The outside ring is a bright yellow while the inner ring is a dark yellow, similar to the color of gold. He typically sports a standard black suit with white rectangles. The rectangles are placed in a manner that is completely symmetrical. There are at least six small rectangles along the seam where the sleeves attach to the jacket, and four small rectangles run along the front of his jacket. His undershirt is a formal white dress shirt, and a metallic skull rests under his collar, and could be used as a tie. His color scheme is meant to copy his father's. He also sports black hair with three white stripes, known as the Lines of Sanzu, along the left side of his hairline.[3] On some missions, Kid dons a black cloak and cartoonish skull mask that resemble his father's current wear out of pure enjoyment. When observed by an individual with Soul Perception in account of his personality, his soul appears in a orange-red color with white stripes representing the Lines of Sanzu. When expanding, however, the color of his soul changes to that of blue hue with white lines, along with dark, Death Claws surrounding the soul.[5] Power Anime Prior to his entry in Death Weapon Meister Academy, Kid's power enabled him to take on missions that Lord Death deemed suitable for three-star meisters and was considered too difficult for ordinary academy students by Sid Barett. Kid was also considerable enough to have also defeated Paroh, who was remarked to be powerful and warranted a three-star meister to battle.[3] After his admission into the school, Franken Stein noted that his abilities were far above anyone's own in the school and was able to easily fend off Black☆Star in close combat, in which the assassin specialized in[5] and possessed more raw power than anyone else in his class.[6] In life or deaht situations, Kid's has deep latent power from the complete (temporary) connection of all three Lines of Sanzu and channels Death's power. His abilities surpasses that of Maka Albarn.[8] Being a grim reaper, Kid's physical abilities is considered "immeasurable" (計り知れない, Hakarishirenai).[9] Statements from official bios His abilities surpasses that of other souls.[10] Special Abilities Grim Reaper Physiology: As a grim reaper, Kid's constitution is more powerful than an ordinary human's own; his body is capable of repelling chemicals such as poison and hair dye and his skin is unable to get sunburned.Reaper Eyes (死神の目玉, Shinigami no Medama): Kid possess special eyes due to being a grim reaper that allows for better accuracy; his eyes, at will, can grant him vision that resembles a HUD and improves his accuracy, allowing them to recognize enemies, gauge resonance and power rates, and even "lock-on" in certain circumstances.[12] Grim Reaper's Blood (死神の血, Shinigami no Chi): As the son of Lord Death and being a grim reaper, his blood grants him tremendous power and act as one of the two sources of his own power.[13] Lines of Sanzu (ザ ライン オブ サンズ, Za Rain obu Sanzu): A grim reaper trait represented by the three-lines in his head, they act as the main source of his powers as a grim reaper.[7] Magic (魔法, Mahō): As a death god, Kid has a variety of magical abilities.[14] Emergency State: Due to possessing the Lines of Sanzu and being Death's son, Kid maintains a connection to Death. When in an life threatening situation and was nearly killed by Asura, Kid was able to tap into the power of the Lines of Sanzu (and as a result, his own father's own). When in this "emergency state", he gains unbelievable power in which his technique could decimate even Asura, a powerful Kishin with sufficient power to defeat Death, in his Giant Form.Close Quarters Combat (近接戦闘, Kinsetsu Sentō): Kid is a capable combatant, with Maka commenting that Kid, on one occassion, was able to toy with Black☆Star despite his forte being hand-to-hand combat/martial arts and showcased superior skill in their first battle with the assassin alongside Soul.[5] Reaper Combat Arts (死神体術, Shishin Taijutsu): Kid's chosen fighting style, it allows him to utilize differences stances dependent on a given situation and use it's strengths to battle his opponents.[15] Gun Fu (ガンカタ, Gan Kata): Kid is skilled in a form of combat that combines his gunplay and martial arts skills; he was able to use this style against Nars Garnier and eventually overpowered him.
