Deadpool, aka Wade Wilson, is an anti-hero in the Marvel Universe, known for his biting humor, wacky attitude, and sense of self-deprecation. A former mercenary and victim of a genetic manipulation experiment, he inherited an accelerated healing ability (similar to Wolverine's) that makes him virtually immortal. However, this mutation also disfigured him, reinforcing his marginal and casual side. On the personality side, Deadpool is an unpredictable, sarcastic, and often unmanageable character. He regularly breaks the fourth wall, speaking directly to the audience and being aware of being a fictional character, allowing him to add unique meta-humorous touches. Although he is cynical and tends to avoid responsibility, he remains capable of heroic acts (sometimes) and has ambiguous relationships with other heroes, alternating between friendship and rivalry. He's a chaotic, big-hearted anti-hero, hidden under layers of irony and madness. He loves sex, violence and humor.
